When I first made this smoothie, it was a total experiment. It was just a throw-everything-into-the-blender situation and see what happens. To my surprise, it ended up tasting delicious!

And you just won’t believe how many veggies have gone into it. IT IS PACKED!!! This light and refreshing green smoothie is loaded with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory nutrients such as spinach, avocado, and zucchini. The crazy thing is, you can’t taste the vegetables. What you taste is a hint of sweet banana, a twist from the kiwi, and smooth creaminess from the avocado.

Sometimes I like to add a trilogy of flax seed, chia seed, and hemp seed for a healthy dose of fiber, protein, and good fats, depending on the time of day I’m drinking it. It’s optional, but do keep in mind that you may want to add more coconut water to thin things out, as it will get thicker the more you add. My favorite brand is below.

Kiwi Avocado Green Smoothie Ingredient Notes:

  • Zucchini – I just actually skin it and experience no changes in terms of texture to the smoothie.
  • Banana – Would do either thawed or frozen. In case you choose to thaw it, ice should go into your smoothie to thicken it and get it nice and cold. If you used frozen, no ice is needed. (Don’t add too much ice; otherwise it will just water down the smoothie).
  • Pro tip- Get the banana out of the freezer right at the last minute. It becomes gooey once it has been thawed too long on the counter.
  • Kiwi – Did you know that kiwi is very rich in dietary fibers, proteins and vitamins?
  • Either green kiwi or golden kiwi will do just that. Green kiwi is tangy, not very sweet. Golden kiwi has a tropical sweet taste and is much smoother and sweeter. Both are awesome though!
  • Sweetener – If it doesn’t turn out sweet enough, your honey can turn it into something nicer: and if you want to go vegan, use maple syrup instead. (For this recipe, I prefer to go with a little maple syrup instead).

This Creamy Kiwi Avocado Green Smoothie has a tangy kiwi, creamy avocado, and an energizing trio of greens to feed your body with what it needs for the day. Because it’s creamy and refreshing, this smoothie will serve great as breakfast, post-workout, or an afternoon delight on a warm day.

Ingredients:

Two ripe kiwis, peeled and sliced.

1/2 ripe avocado.

1 cup fresh spinach (or kale for added nutrition)

1/2 frozen banana (naturally sweet and creamy)

1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any milk you want)

1/2 cup of Greek yogurt (optional for added protein)

1 tablespoon of chia seeds or flaxseeds (for fiber and omega-3s).

1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional for extra sweetness)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional for a subtle flavor)

5-6 ice cubes (for a thicker and colder texture).

Instructions

The ingredients are prepared by peeling and slicing the kiwi fruits, as well as cutting the avocado in half, discarding the seed, and emptying the flesh.

First, blend the spinach and almond milk until smooth, taking care not to leave any large green chunks in the final smoothie.

Add the remaining ingredients: Following are the relative ingredients: Kiwi, avocado, frozen banana, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, vanilla extract, and honey.

Combine the remaining ingredients: Next, add the kiwis, avocado, frozen banana, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, vanilla extract, and honey.

Blend till creamy: Blend the ingredients on high for 30-60 seconds, or until very smooth and creamy.

Adjust the consistency: If the smoothie is too thick, add additional almond milk. Alternatively, if it is too thin, add a couple more ice cubes and blend again.

Serve and enjoy: Pour into a glass and serve immediately. Garnish with sliced kiwi, chia seeds, or shredded coconut for added texture and nutrients.

Keys to making the ultimate Kiwi Avocado Green Smoothie:

  • Sweet and creamy smoothie made with ripe kiwis and avocados.
  • Banana added beforehand into freezer to give a thick and naturally sweet smoothie requiring no added sugar.
  • Sweeten to your taste: If the kiwi is too tart, just add banana or honey.
  • Add protein powder, hemp seeds, or collagen powder for an extra health boost.
  • Liquid options: Switch almond milk with coconut water, oat milk, or plain dairy milk, depending on what you feel like.
  • For a smoothie bowl, pour less liquid and blend till thick. Then, top it with oats, slivered almonds, and some fresh fruit.
